Observational Learning in the Martial Art Studio: Instructors as Models of Positive Behaviors

This article addresses the question of aggressive behavior and the perception that studying martial arts might lead to increases in such behavior. Associated philosophical and psychological principles are reviewed and the theoretical background explaining the positive effects of martial arts training is linked to the experimental findings.
