Traditional Martial Arts with a Non-Traditional Population: Teaching the Deaf

This article describes the teaching of a traditional form of martial art to Deaf children. The similarities and differences in teaching style and behavior when compared to non-hearing impaired students are addressed. The physical and psychological benefits to the children involved are also discussed.
