This is a delightful story of a monk’s attempt to settle a samurai’s mind, trying common Zen activities, such as sitting meditation, a tea ceremony, and poetry. These failed, but a complex mathematical problem proved a way to enlightenment. Perhaps finding a solution to a problem compares to finding one’s spiritual path.
