William E. Fairbairn: British Pioneer in Asian Martial Arts

In 1900, Fairbairn joined the Royal Marines and went to Korea and then moved to Shanghai joining the municipal police force. He had access to varied martial arts instruction, inclucing Sikh stick-fighting, jujutu, judo, and bagua. His police techniques are legendary, particularly with knife and guns. Sample of open-hand techniques are shown.
