Optical Illusions in Aikido

Optical illusions deceive the visual perception of aikido techniques, affecting various aspects of its learning and teaching. Here we discuss how illusory visual stimuli distort our interpretation of rolling and falling, partnered techniques of neutralization, projections-throws, and weapons. Results help improve our communication of aiki principles.
