This article builds upon the core principles developed in a previous article on Sanchin kata (Vol. 8:2), adding advanced principles, such as transferring internal energy into technique, sensing skills, and body-shifting to position the body. The standard rising block is used as a vehicle to explain blocking principles, however, the ideas apply to all of the standard blocks. Includes two-person drills and applications.
