By Ellis Amdur, M.A.

Maniwa Nen-ryu

Since the early 16th century, fighting arts were passed down through generations by the farmer-warriors (goshi) around the village of Maniwa. Their fighting systems includes work with the sword, naginata, spear, and blocking arrows in flight with a sword.
