Korea’s oldest surviving martial art text (1790) includes a sub-section on the “Native Sword” and includes a prearranged form with postures stated to have originated at least partially in Korea. The purpose of this article is to explore this claim while giving the modern martial artist a glimpse of past weapons training native to Korea.
