The Saga of the Modern Martial Arts Student-Instructor Relationship in North American Schools

This article focuses on the dynamic and conflict-ridden relationship between Taekwondo instructors and students-becoming-instructors in Canadian training halls. It identifies the short apprenticeship period prevalent in many schools as the culprit. The solution may lie in teaching would-be instructors how to teach more professionally.
